How it began

MINDRA was founded on May 12, 2026 by a group of researchers, engineers, educators and entrepreneurs who shared one frustration — talent existed everywhere, but the institutions that turn talent into impact did not.

From early conversations between Silicon Valley and Khartoum, a clear question emerged: what would it take to build a world-class professional association — one that treats Arab, African and global talent on equal footing, and that invests in artificial intelligence, research and innovation as a single mission?

We chose artificial intelligence because it is the defining technology of our generation — but we refused to treat it as a black box reserved for a few. MINDRA exists to open the door: to researchers without a lab, students without a chapter, founders without a network, and institutions without a roadmap.

Today MINDRA is taking its first steps as a non-profit, professional, educational and research association with a global outlook and deep roots in the Arab world and Africa. The road ahead is long — but the direction is clear.
